Brief Note About District Treasury,Tawang District:

The District Treasury, Tawang is functioning as per central treasury rules under general charges of the District Collector.There are 27 Nos. of Non-Cheque drawal DDO’s and 8 Nos. of Cheque drawing DDO’s under the jurisdiction of Treasury Office, Tawang.The main activities of District Treasury Tawang is to keep proper expenditure and receipts of DDO’s and Govt. Transaction. Utmost efforts has been made to check proper distribution of funds provided by the head offices.Proper care is being made to check the head of accounts before passing any claims. The District treasury Tawang also prepares and passes all natures of pension bills viz. Political,central,civil,defense,and state pensions.

This Office also issues/sales Non-Judicial Stamps.Top priority is given to furnish neat and clean submission of monthly accounts to Accountant General(A&E) Itanagar by the 10th of succeeding month regularly.

The District Treasury,Tawang is one of the oldest office building in the Tawang which has been established in 1977 as per record.This office is located near Urban Dev. Housing Tawang/RWD Office Tawang. Initially District Treasury functioned as Non-Banking Treasury. Later on the power of Non Banking was converted into Banking Treasury. The Deputy Commissioner, Tawang is the controlling Officer of the District Treasury and Treasury officer is the Head of Office. The Office was empowered DDO Power during the year 1996.

Physical Activities: 

The main function of the office is to maintain expenditure and revenue of DDO’s in the District. There are 27 Nos. of Non-Cheque drawal DDO’s and 8 Nos. of Cheque drawing DDO’s under the jurisdiction of Treasury Office, Tawang. This figure may change from time to time. This Office keeps the duplicate keys of the DDO’s and also issues/sales Non Judicial stamp paper. The treasury Officer, Tawang is discharging its function under the central Treasury Rule and submit monthly accounts before 10th of the succeeding to Accountant General, (A&G) Itanagar.
