1. Introduction about the Department
The Deputy Director (RD), Department of Rural development, Tawang is responsible for planning and implementation and monitoring of various alleviation programme (Self-employment & wage employment) sponsored by the the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India in the District through blocks. The Deputy Director (RD), DRD, Tawang at the district level expect to play a vital role so that the actual benefit of the Rural development programmes percolates down to the actual needy beneficiaries who are living below the poverty line. There are 3 (Three) community development blocks in Tawang District since the establishment of DRDA and 3(Three) new blocks have been created which makes the total to 6(Six) DRDA, Tawang has been registered under Societies Registration Act No.SR/ITA/42 dated 31.05.1983. The Government of Arunachal Pradesh has been absorbed dated 22/02/2024 to Rural Development Department and is no more agency, so it is Department of Rural Development and the post of Project Director (RD) has been discontinued in the state of Arunachal Pradesh the existing designation of the Project Director (RD) has been re-designated as Deputy Director (RD) DRD, Tawang.
